Every start-up kick starts its journey with a hypothesis and YNew is no exception. Given the limitations of classifieds as a channel to sell & buy used devices, we launched a pilot store to solve the perils of individual sellers & buyers with a compelling value proposition for both the parties. Our attempt proved to be successful at a local level but we found it challenging to build a scalable business model. Our efforts of concurring with the existing ecosystem paved the way for immense learning and forced us to take a deep-dive in to the industry to excavate unexplored opportunities within this space. However building a two-sided platform is a daunting task and as a resource constrained start-up staying on in the game was a roller-coaster ride. There comes the big pivot with an opportunity to solve much bigger problems of digital revolution which is currently underway. With billions of people and millions of businesses buying devices (Smartphones, Tablets) & PCs (Laptops, Desktops), supply chain complexities of technology industry are piling up and the major challenges that they face include reverse logistics and value recovery. On other hand India's fast-paced economic growth will not sustain, unless the digital divide is closed soon which may adversely affect the delivery of social benefits of ICT. To address this duality, YNew is committed to embrace the supply chain sustainability through value recovery and make IT affordable for individuals and organizations with an aim to bridge the digital divide. We continue to embrace innovative business models of circular economy to extend the life-cycle and environmental impact of these devices while joining hands with other players of this ecosystem.
