1. Java development skills and Android SDK 2. Has worked with the native Android SDK and is comfortable with using the core Android components like activities, fragments, broadcast receivers, services, AsyncTasks. 3. Solid understanding of OOPS, multi-threading, and good design patterns. 4. Experience with the Google Android Support or AppCompat libraries. 5. Experience with REST API’s/custom web services to integrate mobile applications to server side systems and handling JSON/XML. 6. Knowledge of Android UI design principles, patterns and best practices to deal with different screen sizes 7. Published applications in the Google Play store is a plus 8. Ability to integrate third-party libraries and SDKs into the app effectively when required. 9. Background using Android Studio 10. Caching strategies and memory management skills 11.
