Roles & Responsibilities 1. Specialized typesetting skills are the key to the role 2. Paginating books / journals using various tools and functions built within InDesign-based typesetting 3. Responsible for end-to-end page composition in XML-based workflow from simple to complex level books / journals 4. Should be able to handle complex articles, issues, heavy edits with minimal supervision 5. Prioritize jobs based on the SLA and complete all the allocated tasks on time 6. Understand layout specifications and instructions very clearly and carry those in the jobs allocated and ensure the highest quality at all times 7. Be a Quality Controller for their own jobs and ensure ZERO PAGINATION ERRORS to avoid rework / reprocessing Key skills: Indesign Pagination, Typesetting, Quality Control, compositor, Composer, Paginator Skill Set 1. Graduate / postgraduate from any arts / science background 2. At least one year experience in Adobe InDesign (CS-4 / CS-5 / CS-6) pagination with any mid-large sized publisher 3. Hands-on experience and good knowledge in XML-based workflow of books / journals with varying complexities 4. Experience or exposure in Mathtype / Powermate to handle pages with equations will be an added advantage 5. Exposure or knowledge in handling multilingual books / journals and knowledge of preflight checking will be an added advantage 6. Decent communication (verbal and written) skill and a pleasant disposition is a key for this position 7. Eye for detail and ability to read through the instructions and carry them out in work appropriately 8. Design thinking, logical reasoning and ability to ask questions when in doubt, will be helpful 9.
